We are looking for a Patient Account Manager / Medical PA
Job Description
Company description
Laser Vision Scotland was established in 2010 and is Scotland’s leading provider of hospital based, multi-site cataract and refractive surgery. We are fully regulated by Health Improvement Scotland’s Healthcare Environment Inspectorate (HIS HEI). In addition, our surgeons are regulated and revalidated by the General Medical Council.
We’re committed to investing in the most up to date technology for the benefit of our patients. We aspire to provide a service that compare favourably to the best eye centres in Europe and America. To maintain these high standards, we continually invest in new diagnostic equipment, new staff and introduce new services.
What sets us apart from the rest is the exceptional patient care we provide to each and every one of our patients. Every member of staff lives and breathes a mindset that our patients come first.
Job description
Do you want to join a small, friendly but growing healthcare business providing exceptional customer service to our patients?
We are looking for an individual with a positive, customer focused outlook to join our team. We value individuals who are confident, take pride in their work, are organised with an eye for detail, have great telephone skills and like to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team.
You will look after your patients from their first phone call with us through to carrying out care check-ups after surgery. You will be involved in every step of the patient’s journey, helping to arrange their initial consultation, checking up on their progress throughout, helping to arrange theatre dates, ensuring billing is completed, typing up their correspondence to their GP / optometrists / opticians and directly to the patients. You will relish the opportunity to know your patients and will be integral to their overall experience with Laser Vision Scotland. You will have ample time to look after your patients and we encourage you to take the initiative in providing the individualised care that each patient needs.
We pride ourselves in providing exceptional care for everyone of our patients so we need a team who genuinely care about the needs of their patients. If you are the kind of person who would make a note in your diary to call a particularly nervous patient the evening before their surgery or who would double check the travel arrangements for a patient who may need that extra bit of help then you are probably the person we are looking for.
This role is part time or full time depending on the availability of the right candidate with a requirement to spend time in our Edinburgh offices.
Please note that successful applicants are required to attend our office in Edinburgh and Glasgow for 15 training days* to complete their induction which includes one to one training.*
A demonstrated history of working in healthcare or a similar senior administration role is an advantage to this role although competence and a positive work ethic will always be our priority. Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous but not essential.
